The Love Birds

Yesterday my sister - in -laws and I planned Blake's sister's bridal shower. With lots of team work we pulled off a very cute party. . .

The games we played were very fun and quick. He says, She says; was a cute game where we asked the bride and groom to answer some questions and the guests had to guess whether he or she said it (hence the name). The other game we played was Bridal Shower Bingo. You guess what the bride is going to get. We did a prize for bingo and a black out.

A (play) DATE with Taylor

We went to Utah last weekend for my five year high school reunion. After, Blake went golfing with his best friend Joey, and Peyton played with Taylor and Amanda. She 5 months older than Peyton, but they played together great. It was so much fun, Thanks for a fun day!

"There ain't no doubt I love this land. . . "

". . . God Bless the USA."

I love, love, love the fourth of July. I mean how many holidays do you get to spend all day outside with your loved ones; eating, maybe swimming, and to end the night shooting off explosives!

I do love all of those things. But this year I was reminded how lucky I really was to be an American. I don't watch R rated movies normally. And when Blake rented "Act of Valor" the night before I was against it. But my love language being touch, the idea of cuddling got the better of me :). Though there were parts that made me squirm, and I even had to close my eyes. This was a very good movie about a week in the life of Navy Seals. And it made me appreciate what our service men and women do to keep America's freedom.

This year was also special because it was P's first fourth, and it was so much fun watching him enjoy everything for the first time. Can't wait for the many more.

We had tons of delicious food

At the Parade

For future journaling purposes. . . this is what we did:
  • We all went to the parade.
  • Ate lunch with Blake's fam at Porter Park.
  • We went home and took long naps.
  • We went to Blake's Parent's house and played on the Ginormous blow up slide.
  • We ate tons of delicious food (Bart made ribs).
  •  We watched big, illegal fireworks that Zach bought.

6 Months and Counting

It's a funny feeling watching your baby grow right in front of you. A part of me was sad to see him grow out of the new born stage. But that sadness was replaced with the excitement of seeing him grow more independent. It feels like I almost might be doing something right :). He is gaining quite the personality. And I feel like he is learning so fast. Happy Half Birthday my sweet, sweet boy!
