Fun in the Sun

A special thanks to Katie for taking these cute photos :)

This weekend was so warm and sunny, so Peyton and I took full advantage. We went to a pool party at play group, then that night we went to the splash park at Porter Park with Dexter and Katie Truman. Saturday we spent all day at Rigby Lake with the Trumans.
I found that Peyton loves to play in the water. I found this blog where the mom taught her 6 month old how to swim (like face under water). I can't even imagine Peyton swimming already, but it makes me think that maybe I should start teaching him. I have this feeling that this summer is going to include a lot of water.

Diaper Cake ToGo Please

On Saturday I had a baby shower I had totally forgot about until 1 hour before. Blake had asked me not to spend any money that day, because we were waiting for money to transfer. So, I worked with what I had, and I certainly have quite a few diapers. There are a few things I would have done differently if, but I felt like it turned out okay given the time restrictions. Once again. . . Thank you Pinterest!

A Quick Shout Out. . .

Dad, Grandpa McCoy, P and me

I just wanted to say Happy Father's Day to my dad. Thanks for always being there for me. I saw this quote somewhere:

GREAT DADS GET PROMOTED TO GRANDPAS

I love you Dad!

Daddy's Boy

I am so amazed how much Peyton loves Blake. You think since #1 I feed him and #2 I spend all day with him that I would be his favorite. I am afraid to say this is not the case. He is so intrigued by Blake and I had to take the pictures to prove it.
Blake, thanks for being an amazing dad to P. We both love you!

Peyton and I also went on a date to the park Friday night (Blake was busy with other activities). P can sit up now which is so much fun. He enjoys tossing the ball back and forth. Yesterday was also his first time on a swing, which was a success. I can't get over how much I love my little man!

Les Miserable

When I was about 13-14 years old, my parents took me to the play Les Miserable. I loved the story and the music.

I was watching E News (I know a little embarrassing). I was so excited when I heard that they were re-making the movie with two of my favorite actors; Hugh Jackman, and Russel Crowe.

I'm hoping if I tell Blake now he can prepare himself by December to go. (He's not a fan of musicals)

Thrifted Mirror Makeover

BEFORE
AFTER
I love craft days! Since I have had Peyton it is so much harder to start and finish projects. To be honest though, I just stuck him in the bumbo outside with me, I don't know what I am going to do when he can move around.

I found this mirror at a thrift store. It was originally $19.99, but I was able to talk her down to $14.99. I used a satin, antique white spray paint, and a fine sandpaper.

I loved how this turned out, but the one problem; Blake pointed out :) the antique white does not look good with the living room color on the wall. Bright whites look a lot better, so we are still trying to find a good place for it. We will probably put it in our bedroom for now.

It was a fun project to work on. Here is how I did it. . .

I started out by sanding the high spots. . .

Then I taped off the mirror part, so it would be easier to spray paint. . .

Then I spray painted, let it dry, and did another coat. . .

Here's a closer look. . .

I sanded the high spots again. . .

I dusted it off and cleaned the mirror. . .

And this is what the finished product looks like. (sorry for the crotch shot).

A Tour of Apt. 3

Blake and I have lived in 4 places since we've been married.
We love making our apartments our own. It seems as soon as I move into a new apartment all I can think about is how I am going to set it up/decorate it. I measure and sketch.

So feel free to take a guided tour of our living space (the bedrooms were too messy, so maybe another day :)) . . .

The pictures below illustrate the design process. . .

Stay tuned for our wall collage DIY. . .
