Kenzii and Cam's Wedding (part II)

Last Sunday I decided it was time for Peyton to get his hair cut. So I got with my playgroup buddy Rachel Mendenhall and she helped me make my son look like a rockstar.

Our Trip to Parma (part 1)

Kevin and Kimmie went to visit family in Parma this weekend, so instead of driving 9 hours to Spokane, we decided to meet them half way. Blake a Kevin went golfing while Kimmie, Rula (Kevin's mom) and I went shopping and did crafts. We had such a blast, and Peyton loved their little chihuahua Peanut, and would chase him (or scoot after him) around the house. It was so wonderful seeing them, and I told Blake we need to make a goal to see the Jackson's at least once a year.

These were the cardigans Kimmie and I made from long sleeved onsies. We got the idea from here. These are a size 12 month, so Peyton has just a little bit of time to grow into them.

We went to a yard sale, and there were some really cute clothes. My mom would be so proud.

Our Family Trip to Ketchum

We went to Kechum/Sun Valley for my side's family vacation. Mom and Dad rented a nice cabin. We went to a cool thrift store and I found my most favorite second hand thing of all time. . . a chair for Peyton that hooks onto the table. It's a nice one and I got it for four dollars. Other purchases included; baby einstiens, and a picture frame. It was a fun trip except for Peyton had the worst time sleeping, which made for a cranky boy and parents. 

Bookcase Makeover

Back in April I saw an idea on pintrest to put fabric on the back of a bookcase to add some flare. I got a little hasty and choose fabric on a whim while shopping at walmart.
After putting it up, my husband ever so sweetly told me he hated it.
"It's too country" he tells me.
I've finally got around to redoing it. I decided to go with burlap to add texture and would go more with the room.

Fresh flowers and candle light can add to any space.

I like how this turned out. Blake has not seen it yet, but hopefully he likes it too :)

Just a little tip: I don't like using lots of decor on the kitchen counters, but I do think decorating using fruit and vegetables in bowl add a certain freshness. I am announcing this now. . .when I get my own home and I have money or a garden I want to have fresh cut flowers in my rooms.

And. . .

We made delicious chocolate mousse parfaits for dessert last night and watched The Hunger Games. All and all a good night!

Cam & Kenzii's Wedding Part 1

 Two weeks ago I was completely swamped with helping with Kenzii's wedding. I got to do what I love. . . decorate. Kenz let me do the center pieces for her, even the floral design. Sally McKinley at The Wedding Company had tons of cute stuff she let us rent, and gave us lots of fun ideas to go with. There are more pictures to come (like of us at the wedding). Soaking In the Last Rays of Summer

  

 

Blake was out driving again all last week. Katie Truman and I decided that we needed to "soak in the rays" before summer was over. Especially since she is going to start teaching tomorrow. So we let Peyton come to our girl's day at Rigby Lake. I think the best part of being there is people watching :) (isn't that awful of me).

Bear Lake

At the end of July we went to Bear Lake. It was our first time camping with a baby. Luckily, thanks to Amber's sister, we were able to borrow a camper. I can't imagine roughing it in a tent like my parents did/do when I was a baby.
I think the best part was everyone from Blake's side of the family were able to be there. We ate great food. Spent all day on the beach, and that water was so warm. This is definitely going to be an annual tradition. 

A Card for a Wedding

We have all been working hard to get ready for my sister-in-law's wedding. I thought I would take a break to show a card I made for her. . .

The inspiration came from here. It worked out perfectly, because I already had all of the stuff. Stay tuned for pictures from the wedding tomorrow.
